General Rules
Discipline is the hallmark of every Gianellian. We expect that the students entrusted to our care, conduct themselves to the satisfied level and leave the school after a successful carrier as God fearing young men and women useful to themselves, their parents and the society.
Students are urged to contribute to the high tone of the school by their manners and general behaviour. Hence for the smooth running of the school, no student should bring to school any object liable to prove a source of disturbance.
Absolute silence must be maintained at all places during the teaching hours, whether it is the library, the computer room, the general assembly or on way to and from the class rooms etc.
It is compulsory to speak in English in the premises in order to facilitate the students the use of the medium of instruction. They should maintain a high standard in their conversation.
Other than the course books, newspapers, periodicals, pictures, games articles, transistors or any electrical instruments not pertaining to their daily use should not be brought to school without the class teacher’s/Principal’s permission.
The school does not accept responsibility for the loss of books, money, stationary etc. each student is responsible for his/her own things. Bringing of valuable things to the school is discouraged.
The General Assembly is the most important part of the school day. Every student should be present at it to begin the day with prayer to God, and listen to the important announcements.
All must come to school in time neatly dressed, lessons well prepared and home work done. Text and exercise books and material for drawing, Art and Craft should be brought to school according to the day’s routine.
Students should keep their school compound spotlessly clean using the bins provided for waste paper and rubbish.
Students repeatedly coming late or forgetting to bring books or coming without the proper uniform may be fined.
All the pupils should be in school on the first day of each term without fail. Regular attendance is a pre-requiste to good education and an important factor in deciding promotion.
All leave must be applied for in writing addressed to the Principal. No student shall proceed on leave without sanction and permission specially when the leave exceeds two days.
All children are expected to bring the Tiffin with them for the noon Recess.
Pupil suffering from contagious or infectious disease should not attend school.
All should take part in the activities of the school. If Physically unfit a medical certificate should be produced.
Parents must intimate the school whenever their residential address or telephone numbers are changed in order to communicate to them in urgent matters in the interest of their children.
If a student is likely to be absent due to illness for a long period, the Principal must be informed immediately through an application with the name, class and section of their ward.
Parents/Guardian are requested not to give any money to the children unless they receive a written notice from the school.
Continuance on the rolls of the school is subject to satisfactory progress in studies. Any student who fails for the second consecutive year in the same class will not be permitted to continue in the school.
Students must be regular and punctual in attendance.
Fee must be paid regularly. A student’s name is liable to be struck off if the fees are in arrears at the end of the respective quarter.
Rules concerning Absence & Late coming :
Leave of absence will be granted by the principal for serious reasons and only with a prior written application signed by the parents. This should later be entered briefly on the LEAVE - ABSENCE RECORD PAGE OF THE SCHOOL DIARY WHICH HAS TO BE SIGNED BY PARENTS OR GUARDIAN and shown to the class teacher.
As principle not more than one day leave will be granted for a local wedding of brother or sister or close relative. Leave for wedding outside Nagpur will be granted at the discretion of the principal. For such leave, a written application by the parent should be submitted to the principal one week in advance. The parents should follow-up the school studies missed by their children for such leave period.
A pupil who has been suffering from infections or contagious disease will not be allowed to attend school.
Appointments with doctors should be made after school hours.
Repeated absence without prior sanctions of leave or unexplained absence for more than five consecutive days renders the students liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission, if granted will be done on payment of re-admission fee.
The school encourages punctuality. Parents are adviced to inculcate in their wards the habit of coming early to school. No relaxation to this principle shall be allowed.
